About Confident Assurance

(Find posts here)

Confidence is the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something. It is firm trust. It is closely associated with credence, the belief in and acceptance of something as true.

Assurance is defined as “a positive declaration intended to give confidence.” It is a certainty, a guarantee.

Confident assurance, then, is a certainty of truth, and an acceptance of and reliance on it. This confident assurance is the kind of faith God intends for us to have (Hebrews 11:1, 2 Timothy 1:12). He does not call us to a blind faith, or acceptance simply because it is what we have been taught. He created science and reason, and He values them. His intention is that we be sure of what we believe and why we believe it, that we may be able to answer those who ask a reason for the hope that we have (1 Peter 3:15).

My goal in this website is to provide resources to strengthen your knowledge of, familiarity with, and trust in God’s truth; to establish you in the firm foundation of a Christian worldview; and to open your eyes to the hope for restoration found in Christ. My main focus will be on writing blog posts to pass on what I’ve learned; however, I will also share other resources I have found helpful in my journey to become grounded in the truth of my savior and answer the critics.

Apologetics, speech and debate, and writing are my passions. They combine God, questions, science, and arguing—my favorite things in life! It is my hope that through this website I will be able to teach and encourage you as you grow in faith and knowledge, until you have confident assurance in God and His word.

I strongly encourage you to check out the resources page. I’ve collected there some of the best resources already in existence from people who know a lot more than I do!
